How do I log in?

Are credentials allowed to be shared? does not allow the sharing of credentials and you will only be able to be logged on to two concurrent browsers and/or devices at a time (Example: Desktop and Mobile).  This is a security feature to help reduce the risk of someone else gaining access to your account information.  An attempt to log in from a third device/browser will result in the most recent existing session to be logged out.  If you require concurrent access for more than 2 devices/browsers an additional individual subscription can be purchased here:

Do I have to log in everytime I want to read an article? uses cookies to allow our users to log in and keep them logged in for a specific amount of time until the cookie expires, so you will not be prompted every time to enter your password unless you log out manually (this covers the two devices/browsers you may have simultaneously logged into).

I’ve registered before, but forgot my password. Do I need to register again?

If you've forgotten your password, please click the “Log in” link in the top right corner. The "Forgot password" link will be located below the email and password prompts. You'll then be prompted to enter your email address, and an automated email will be sent to you to reset your password.

I am using my login credentials, but am unable to log in. What should I do?

Confirm you are entering in the correct email address and password associated with your account. If you are sure that the information is correct, but still unable to log in, there may be a problem with your account. Simply visit to provide your details and our User Support team will try to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

If I don’t want to become a subscriber, can I still access the IHS Fairplay website content?

I’m a registered user. How do I subscribe?

To become a subscriber, providing you unlimited access to website content, click the 'Subscribe' button located at the top right of the website or click the button that appears when displaying the remaining articles you have left associated with your free registration.

Why do I only get 5 articles free each month with my free site registration? charges for unlimited access so we can continue to invest in the quality journalism you know and love. If you're a regular reader, we hope you'll consider subscribing. You'll get unlimited access to all of our content, including articles, data stories, videos, slide shows and other multimedia features.

I am not an IHS Fairplay website subscriber. What kind of content counts towards my 5 complimentary articles per month?

News articles, analysis stories, slide shows, videos and other multimedia features will all count toward the limit of 5 complimentary articles. Note that the monthly limit is based on items, not page views: a multi-page article or slide show counts as one item (or one "article view").

Upon reaching your 30 day reading limit, you'll be asked to subscribe. Your subscription helps us continue to invest in the quality journalism you know and love. But if you don't subscribe, your free access will be reset at the beginning of the next 30 days, and you'll once again be able to enjoy our content.

If I view the same article more than once in a month, does it count multiple times against my monthly limit?

If you were to close out or navigate away from an article and then revisited at a later time, it would count against your 30 day limit. However, there is no limit to the amount of time you can spend on an article page during a given browser session.

How can I keep track of how many articles I’ve reached each month?

There is a counter that appears at the top of that indicates how many complimentary articles you've read during a current 30 day period.

For Subscribers

When will I be charged for my subscription?

Once you complete your subscription form, payment will be processed instantly. You will then be automatically emailed an electronic receipt within 24 hours.

How is my subscription billed?

At the completion of your annual subscription term, your subscription will be seamlessly and automatically renewed for the next year, making sure you do not encounter a moment of interrupted service. You can opt out of auto-renewal at any time. In that case, your subscription will expire at the end of the term (this means at the end of the annual subscription).

Can I receive a payment receipt?

An electronic receipt will be emailed to the email address you used to subscribe. If you do not automatically receive an email receipt within 24 hours, or you would like a copy of your receipt at a later date, visit and one of our representatives would be happy to assist you.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Refunds will not be provided, except where required by law. If you cancel your subscription at any time, you will be responsible for paying for your commitment for the remaining term.

How do I cancel my subscription?
