Floating storage and regasification unit. This the generic name for an LNG unit, which may or may not have propulsion, which is equipped to store LNG as a liquid on board and able to regasify the liquid to a vapour for discharge ashore, either from an offshore mooring or alongside, directly into a gas grid system. The term EBRV is a trademark for a design called Energy Bridge Regasification Vessel. These vessels also have a moonpool and facilities for connecting directly to an offshore floating turret buoy for discharge ashore, which may not be installed on all FSRUs
